Dog Urine Removal - Water Flush and Extract Technique

!±8± Dog Urine Removal - Water Flush and Extract Technique

Flush Dried Dog Urine with cool water (do not over saturate - use just enough water to loosen up the dried dog pee from the carpet). Let sit for one minute. Then use an extractor, or wet vac to clean up old dog pee from carpet. Continue extracting water until carpet no longer feels wet.

Repeat that step over and over until the spot is entirely gone.

My favorite tool for this is the Bissell Quicksteamer Powerbrush. Although not really a steamer, when you use very hot water in this you create a kind of hot steam cleaning effect on your carpets.

However, when cleaning dog urine, I really recommend using cold water so that you do not "set the stain" any more than it already is.

Pre-treat the stain first by flushing with the cold water. Do not over saturate. Just saturate enough to loosen the dog urine from the carpet and pad. Then use the Bissell Quicksteamer Powerbrush like a vacuum to extract all of the liquid from the carpet and pad.

For best results, go over the carpet very slowly in the area that is wet. You should clearly see the water being pulled into the Bissell.

Continue slowly going over the area, and rotate the direction that you move it across the carpet, until you no longer see any moisture or water going into the chamber.

You can allow it to dry - or - if the stain is still evident - you can flush it with water again, let sit for a minute and then extract all of the water from the carpet until it is as dry as possible.

In some cases, the dog pee may have seeped into the pad below the carpet. If that is the case, you may be able to flush and extract as above. For more difficult and deeply urine soaked areas, it may require pulling up the carpet in that area, cleaning or replacing the carpet pad in that area, cleaning the carpet thoroughly, separate from the pad, and then re-attaching the carpet over the cleaned or replaced pad.

When doing any kind of pet urine removal from carpets it is a good idea to do it on a day that is warm enough to leave the windows open. Having proper ventilation will not only speed the drying process, but sometimes it is necessary to air out the room due to urine odors that can become activated during the flushing and cleansing process.

Many times you can tell that you will need to repeat the process if there is a significant amount of odor after flushing and extracting has been done.

However, it is also important to understand that if those odors have become stronger after flushing and extracting, that you have found an area that really was heavily saturated with dog pee and definitely needed attention.

Just keep repeating the process until until the urine odor and stain have disappeared, and no longer return when the area has dried.

Always open doors and windows to allow for fast evaporation to allow the carpet to dry completely.

Rig Up Drama Class With Rigging Supplies

!±8± Rig Up Drama Class With Rigging Supplies

When I was in high school, I loved drama class. I enjoyed memorizing lines, trying out for speaking parts, and rehearsal. It was also fun to watch the magic that happened backstage thanks to our stage hands. There are so many parts of a good play that the audience just never sees unfold, but without which the play would suffer.

A play is only as good as those running it backstage. Curtains, lighting, scenes, props. All of those little elements add up to literally set the stage for our mind to focus and interpret what's unfolding with the actors. Interestingly, rigging supplies can play a big role in getting carefully built sets where they need to be, and when.

Rigging supplies include wire rope, sleeves and stops, and a lot of other components, usually galvanized. Backstage, a good hand knows which pulley to raise and lower to set an expensive and essential piece of the set just where it needs to be on its cue.

For instance, there may be an anchor bolt set into the ceiling. Wire rope may pass through the bolt and back through an adjustable hanger. Tension can be applied to help set the hanger then voila! The set is suspended and out of the way.

Rigging supplies are a crucial element in the goings-on backstage. Stage hands are usually under the guidance of a team leader who is familiar with the play and the sequence of scenes. Together the team choreographs their movements and timing with and without the actors to ensure everyone behind the scenes knows what their responsibilities are. The person in charge of procuring the rigging supplies must look over the general safety and wellbeing of everyone within range of the set. Together the cast and the crew put on a good, safe show.

Bissell Pet Hair Eraser - Is it Worth Buying?

!±8± Bissell Pet Hair Eraser - Is it Worth Buying?

Bissell Pet Hair Eraser

Bissell has taken it's innovative design to develop two types of vacuums that are perfect for removing pet hair from furniture and floors. We are referring to the Upright Pet Hair Eraser and the Handheld Pet Hair Eraser and these products make it easy to choose a vacuum that will work best for you and your pet needs and.

The Upright Eraser uses dual cylonic power that makes for powerful suction when picking up dog and cat dander and debris. The vacuum operates just like a lint brush on wheels due to the special pet hair lifter feature found underneath. The lifter gathers animal hair as the vacuum is pulled back during normal vacuuming. Once it's moved forward, the lifter releases the accumulated hair to be quickly sucked into the vacuum. There is a great assortment of attachments that come with it, such as the turbo brush and contour tool, making it effortless to clean couches and other favorite places that pets like to rest! It's dual action brushes make sure that carpeting along baseboards is thoroughly cleaned as well. It's also bag less and and has an indicator that will alert users to low air flow, indicating that the filter needs to be cleaned or replaced.

The Handheld Eraser is obviously much smaller and therefore lightweight and compact making it easy to quickly grab and put to use on carpets, upholstery, and stairs. It's attachments include a contour brush and hard nozzle brush for various cleaning needs. However, it is not cordless but the cord is 16' long and allows for maneuvering to other areas without having to change outlets. Not recommended for vacuuming large areas but it is great for cleaning specific spots.

Both the upright and handheld version comes with HEPA vacuum cleaner filters to capture 99% of pollen, ragweed, and other allergens.

Consumer reviews found online rate the Pet Hair Eraser with 4.5 stars out of 5, with 92% saying they would recommend it to a friend. Not bad! Now the only decision is whether to get the upright or handheld version. The upright is the more powerful of the two and makes for a great overall upright vacuum. However, if having something small for quick and easy clean-up is a preference, then the handheld is the better choice. Overall, the Pet Hair Eraser line is a smart investment for any pet owner!
